Interview with IlladelphiaVish

Hailing from Washington D.C, Mic Mountain is an Afro-Latino Emcee and Producer of Native American descent. Mic’s rap style is inspired by his multi cultural background and he has had the pleasure of working with the likes of legendary Mellow Man Ace, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Pace Won of the Outsidaz and Supreme the Eloheem of the Boot Camp Clik.

I got a chance to catch up with Mic as he prepares to release his third solo album The Warpath 3 and a project by Lee Majors called Verse4Verse Volume 4.0:  Chinese Medicine which he produced.

Illy Vish: Thank you so much for speaking to me today. How are you?

Mic Mountain: I’m good, never been better!

Illy Vish: For those unfamiliar with you and your music, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Mic Mountain: My name is Mic Mountain and I’m the best thing since Taco Tuesday. Hahaha. No, seriously I’m an emcee, I make my own beats, design my own graphics, edit and direct my own videos…..I do it ALL.

Illy Vish: What came first… you as an emcee, beat maker, graphic designer or director/ editor of your vids?

Mic Mountain: Emcee came first but I became a professional graphic designer before I started a career in emceeing.

Illy Vish: If you only could use 5 words to describe your flow/ rhyme style what would they be?

Mic Mountain: Rhythmic, energized, charismatic, steady, powerful.

Illy Vish: When did you realize you had a talent for emceeing?

Mic Mountain: In my late teens.

Illy Vish: What artists are your biggest influences?

Mic Mountain: Redman, Big Pun, cats like that.

Illy Vish: What is your favorite song from your current project?

Mic Mountain: Sabado Gigante featuring Thirstin Howl the 3rd.

Illy Vish: Why is Sabado Gigante your favorite song on the new album?

Mic Mountain: Sabado Gigante is my favorite song because I feel my verse on that track, I produced and got my homie on it and my skills are at its peak on there. Plus, I’m speaking my native language a little bit in it which is Spanish.

Illy Vish: What is your favorite song you’ve ever done?

Mic Mountain: I can’t even answer that one, there are so many.

Illy Vish: Ok, random question time:

Are you a fan of mayonnaise? yes or no?

Mic Mountain: Yes, Hellman’s REAL mayonnaise.

Illy Vish: Regarding mayo…. No Miracle Whip? Lol I don’t like mayo at all myself but would you be mad if I handed you a sandwich with Miracle Whip instead of Hellman’s?
Mic Mountain: I like real mayo and I hate Miracle Whip is too sweet.

Illy Vish: Female hip hop heads, a turn on or turn off and why?

Mic Mountain: A turn on because we can have sex to the same music we both love. Hahaha.
Illy Vish: I hear you about the female hip hop heads. Lol. I was surprised to find out that some men get upset when they meet women who dig hip hop as much if not more than they do. Wack, right?
Mic Mountain: Yeah, I think that is wack. They must feel threatened that she can do this hip-hop shit better than they can.

Illy Vish: What is your most embarrassing moment?

Mic Mountain: Passing this girl a love letter I wrote to her in 7th grade all to find out she showed the whole class. Hahaha

Illy Vish: If you had to choose between death by drowning or death by fire, what would you choose?
Mic Mountain: Death by drowning.
Illy Vish: Who has been your favorite artist to work with?
Mic Mountain: Supreme the Eloheem, Thirstin Howl the 3rd and Pace Won.

Illy Vish: Who has been your favorite producer to work with?

Mic Mountain: Thanos even though he’s an asshole. Hahahaha

Illy Vish: What do you feel you add to the hip-hop game that no one else does?

Mic Mountain: Well I’m raw new talent to the game but I also have a gift of making you feel like it’s the 90’s era today. I bring people back to when Hip-Hop was at it’s best.

Illy Vish: Do you prefer performing in smaller or larger venues?

Mic Mountain: It’s doesn’t matter to me as long as the house is packed.

Illy Vish: Anything we need to know about what you have up and coming

Mic Mountain: I got a fourth solo album coming in early 2017 called “Avalanche”. Look out for that.

Illy Vish: Thanks so much for the interview! All the best to you!

Mic Mountain: Thank YOU, luv!
