Mic Mountain - Hip Hop Emcee
Mic Mountain is an Afro-Latino emcee and producer of Native American descent from the Washington D.C. area. Inspired by hip-hop pioneers such as Run-DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, and Redman, he began sharpening his lyrical craft in local studios at a young age. Over time he built a reputation for sharp wordplay, vivid metaphors, and authentic boom-bap energy, collaborating with respected figures in hip-hop including Mellow Man Ace, Psycho Les of The Beatnuts, Thirstin Howl the 3rd, Prince Po, Pace Won, Tame One, Hakim Green, Shabaam Sahdeeq, and Supreme the Eloheem.
Blending multicultural influences with a deep respect for hip-hop’s foundations, Mic Mountain’s music bridges classic East Coast lyricism with modern independent artistry. With three mixtapes and nine solo albums under his belt, he has developed a consistent catalog that celebrates the culture while pushing creative boundaries.
His latest project, Born 2 Fly (The Soundtrack), is a full-length collection featuring some of his most powerful records to date. Released as the official companion to the upcoming documentary on his life and career, the album captures the hunger, resilience, and artistic growth that define Mic Mountain’s journey. Each track reflects a moment in his evolution—documenting the grind, the victories, and the mindset of an artist determined to rise.
Prior to that release, Mic Mountain delivered MicTronics, a heavyweight collaboration with Hartford producer Tronbeatz. The album stands as a masterclass in boom bap, packed with gritty drums, dusty samples, razor-sharp cuts, and lyrical precision. Tracks like “DMV MC” celebrate the Washington D.C. area’s hip-hop culture, while imaginative cuts like “Mystery Weed” and “Scooba Scrap Raps” featuring Thirstin Howl the 3rd showcase his playful creativity and battle-tested mic skills.
Continuing to build momentum with every release, Mic Mountain remains one of the DMV region’s most dedicated independent voices in hip-hop. Whether delivering sharp bars over classic boom-bap production or expanding his story through film and multimedia projects, he represents the spirit of an artist who was truly born to fly.
